raleigh wedding photographer {kristin + james} engagement

I’m still trying to play catch up from last fall and I hope to have blogged all my sessions before my heavy 2010 kicks into high gear.  I can do it…as Sherman Klump in the Nutty Professor says, “yes…I…can!”

James and Kristin are one of the nicest couples you could ever meet.  One of the reasons we started including engagement sessions in all of our wedding collections (without raising prices) is because it’s a great opportunity for me to get to know my couple’s on a deeper level.  As I tell all of my couples, it usually takes about 20 minutes for them to warm up to me and the camera but by the end of the day I always hear even the most camera shy people say, “That was so much fun!”.  So, without a time limit on any of our sessions, by the end of a shoot after we’ve walked around, laid on the ground, got dirty, got sweaty, stood in the middle of traffic, climbed to the top of a building or braved some crazy weather conditions, we all become best friends real quick!

In my session with James and Kristin, I could sense that Kristin was up for anything, meanwhile James didn’t really trust me…lol.  By the end of the engagement session I was able to convince James he needed to stand in the middle of two-way traffic…at night…in Chapel Hill…with crazy students speeding by.  Anyway, props to both James and Kristin for trusting me and for just having fun.  I can’t wait for their wedding this fall.

Congrats and happy loving!
