In January our daughter Emma turned two and as you will see in this post, there is a certain character that she is particularly fond of. In an interesting backstory, a few years ago my wife and I went to the state fair in Raleigh, and we were on a mission: I had never won anything at the fair and my wife and never had something won for her. Sooo…$800 bucks later, we left the fairgrounds that night with a sense of accomplishment and pride…oh, and a bigger-than-life-sized Curious George.
Flash forward a year later, with the bigger-than-life-sized Curious George stored away in the garage, Emma, for some reason really loves the Curious George cartoon show on TV. I really think the name “George” was one of her first words…lol. Of course, she says it like, “Jedge”. Anyway, we pulled the bigger-than-life-sized Curious George out of hibernation one day and rest, as they say is history.
Because we have family everywhere and Emma’s birthday is close to Christmas, she gets at least two parties every year. One with the family we are visiting for Christmas that year and one at home in NC. Thanks to everyone who came to Emma’s party here in NC and special thanks to Mandy and Ian for hosting it at their beautiful new home. Oh, and a special thanks to Ian for grabbing my camera and getting a rare shot of me with my family!
God bless!
