new york wedding photographer {cassandra + francis}

I’m so ecstatic to finally get to publish Francis and Cassandra’s intimate New York Wedding.  I must admit that when Cassandra first contacted me from Singapore, wanting me to photograph her wedding in New York City, I though it was spam…lol.  I mean, we get inquires from all over, but I must say Singapore is the most distant country yet!

I’m glad I didn’t disregard Cassandra’s email as spam because once I talked to them on the phone (thank God for Skype!) I realized what an awesome, fun-loving couple they were.  I knew right away that we would be a good fit for each other so I was excited to head to New York and brave the chilly temps for their wedding.

Francis and Cassandra lived in New York for a little while and met while they were both journalist for the national broadsheet, The Straits Times.  Francis, a financial journalist and Cassandra, a political journalist are one of the most fun loving, romantic couples I have ever met.  You know how there seems to be some people that kinda sap your energy when you are around them?  Well, Francis and Cassandra were like 6 cans of Red Bull for me…I got excited just being around them!  I mean when I heard that Francis flew from Singapore to Hong Kong to Vancouver to New York to surprise his girlfriend, I thought he was either really lonely, crazy, or just a romantic guy who was in love.  I know for a fact it was the latter.  ;)

When I arrived in Manhattan, it was cold.  Very cold.  It felt like -60 with the wind chill, but you know me, it takes a LOT for me to back down from a shoot.  Rain, sleet, hurricane, earthquake, whatever…it’s just another challenge for me to conquer.  But this day was almost an exception.  It was so cold we could barely stay still in one spot for more than 3 seconds!  But, we were in New York and it WAS sunny at least…so we were going to make the best of it.  Through my chattering teeth and quivering body, I managed to keep my camera still enough to get some awesome shots of this amazing couple.

During the first part of the day we headed out to shoot an engagement session and then we headed back to the gorgeous, Waldorf-Astoria for Francis and Cassandra’s intimate ceremony.  Not only was this couple, fun and romantic, they were hip and stylin’ on the fashion front too.  Francis was rockin’ his James Bond look (or was it Sean Connery?  lol…inside joke) and Cassandra was stunning and dashing in her Kevin Seah Haute Couture dress and Christian Louboutin shoes.

Thank you both so much for being such a blast to work with.  I am blessed to have met you both.  God bless!

ps, don’t forget to fly me over there when you have kids!  ;)
